EAR WITNESS CAPTURE
by
An Ear Witness Recording is not your typical audio capture—it’s a human microphone. A trained person is present and unobtrusively recording your theatrical experience by wearing our specialized, incognito binaural gear. No wires. No boom stands. No cables taped to the floor. No cameras. No mixing board. Nothing to plug into the wall. Just a seamless presence in the room, listening as the audience listens.
The result is a 3D, immersive audio recording that delivers an echo of the performing heart of your show. Through headphones, the listener experiences how the performance feels from the exact perspective you’ve chosen.
Unlike a phone or standard stereo recording—which flattens the sound and cannot capture the energy of the room—an Ear Witness Capture immerses the listener in the true, authentic experience. It preserves the spatial depth, nuance, and emotional pulse of the performance exactly as it was lived, making it invaluable for both creative development and archival purposes.

WHAT DO WE OFFER?
Pre-production meetings to work with your team to plan out the position and proximity to the stage.

Post-production* editing is available at an extra cost, it includes clean-up, sweetening, edits, and specific delivery loudness requirements.
* Depending on the size of your project, post-production costs will vary - available upon request.

Have you ever suffered from not having your whole team present for the moments that matter most? An EWC Immersive Audio Recording allows your team to step into the room from wherever they are in the world, experiencing discoveries, laughter, and monumental breakthroughs in real time. Our recordings capture the true reactions and feedback on the evolving story of your show.

MEETINGS - DEVELOPMENT
Sound designers, directors, and choreographers can use immersive recordings to hear and feel how their work lands in the space without being physically present.

REHEARSALS - READINGS - SITZPROBES
Artists and Creatives can step inside their rehearsal from a different perspective, helping them refine performance choices.
Unlike a simple stereo or over-compressed phone recording, an EWC Immersive Audio Recording captures the full soundscape of a room—every voice, every instrument, every movement—exactly as it happens.
It’s not just sound; it’s presence, space, and energy, letting listeners feel like they’re truly in the room and experience the show or creative moment in its full depth.
AND OF COURSE IN LIVE PERFORMANCE!
An EWC Immersive Audio Recording isn’t just a way to capture sound—it’s a tool to elevate live performances. Artists can step back into rehearsals and experience every voice, every movement, and every moment in full spatial detail, refining timing, delivery, and chemistry. Directors and designers gain precise insight into pacing and staging, while touring casts or replacements can faithfully recreate the original production. It’s a way to perfect the live show, extend the audience experience, and preserve the energy of every performance.
